Pre-School Dance Program (Ages 3–4; select 2.5-year-olds)

Designed for little movers, our Pre-School Dance program blends joyful exploration with age-appropriate skill building. Classes focus on Creative Movement, introductory Preschool Acrobatics, and beginning dance fundamentals with a Ballet emphasis. Activities are playful, imaginative, and paced to match short attention spans and growing motor skills.

What your child will experience:

  • Creative Movement games and storytelling to develop musicality, coordination, and expressive confidence

  • Basic ballet positions, posture, and simple center and across-the-floor patterns to build a solid dance foundation

  • Gentle preschool acrobatics that teach balance, rolls, safe floor work, and body awareness (age-appropriate progressions and safety-focused instruction)

  • Fun props, songs, and activities that encourage social interaction, listening skills, and classroom manners

Class structure:

  • Warm-up through movement and music

  • Skill practice in short, engaging segments

  • Creative/free movement and games

  • Cool-down and brief wrap-up with positive reinforcement

Acceptance and readiness:

  • Open to ages 3–4; some 2.5-year-olds accepted based on readiness and comfort in a group setting.

  • Emphasis on encouragement, patience, and creating a supportive environment where young children feel safe to try new things.

Perfect for first-time dancers who love to move, sing, and play while building foundational dance and motor skills in a caring, structured setting.

  • Spring Production Experience

Kalyber and I recently attended our first ballet recital, and it was a truly amazing experience! Micaiah Lausche's talent in creating this event was evident in the beautiful choreography, stunning outfits, and powerful storytelling. The music highlighted the strength, intelligence, and beauty of women and girls, showcasing the importance of friendship through the symbol of the yellow umbrella uniting the dancers.

I haven't attended a ballet recital since my childhood, when I watched The Nutcracker with a family friend. I'm thrilled to have a baby girl to share these moments with in the future. After missing last year's recital, I won't miss another one, and I look forward to seeing Kalyber dance beautifully on stage one day!

  • Thank You to Miss Micaiah

    Hi Miss Micaiah,

I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to you! Our daughter Sigrid danced with you when she was 3-4 years old, and although we’ve moved a couple of times and now live near Minot, dance remains an essential part of our lives. Watching her perform in The Nutcracker this weekend filled me with appreciation for you and the gifts you bring to the world.

One of the things we miss most about Valley City is your studio. You have a wonderful ability to balance art, technicality, and fun in dance. Thank you for being you! I’m truly grateful that our paths have crossed.
